30 Fairmont Park Lane S Paul Meyer’s letter on Thursday, February 22, indicates he has “Kyoto think” down pat. His suggestion that BC, Alberta, the Yukon and NWT form a new country to reduce Canada’s emissions smacks of genius. A check on provincial emissions indicates that would indeed bring Canada into compliance with Kyoto and then some. Canada could sell the excess reductions on the “hot air” emission reduction market. The new country would be “developing” and would thus have no emission reduction targets and could sell credits too. I hope Stephan Dion is on top of this. This is surely a way to make “megatonnes of money” from Kyoto. And I thought we should withdraw.
Yours truly,
Duane Pendergast
